We Need Your Help Opposing HB 676

Ohio House Bill 676 (HB 676) is being proposed right now, and many animal owners, rescues, and advocates are speaking out against it.

Here’s the issue in simple terms 👇

It unfairly targets responsible owners

This bill doesn’t just go after neglectful situations—it impacts all wolfdog owners, even those who care for their animals responsibly.

The definitions are unclear

The bill doesn’t clearly define what a “wolfdog” is, which could lead to confusion, misidentification, and inconsistent enforcement.

It creates expensive requirements

New rules, fees, and potential insurance could put a heavy financial burden on responsible owners.

It raises privacy and property concerns

Some parts of the bill could affect how people manage their own property and animals.

It could harm the animals it claims to protect

There’s real concern that this could lead to animals being seized or surrendered—even if they’ve never been aggressive.

It doesn’t actually fix the root problem

The bill was created after one incident, but critics say existing laws already covered that situation.

My Pack of Wolves Sanctuary

Mission

Offering safe haven and rescue to wolves and wolf dogs, and giving them opportunities to thrive and be accepted into other packs, as well as coexisting with us.

Fostering awareness and continued education of the public’s knowledge about the misconceptions of the wolf and wolf dog with the hope to achieve a better understanding of the species.

All potential placements must be DNA tested for wolf content and be neutered/spayed prior to surrender.
